Armizare

Armizare(are-mit-TZAR-ay)

The Italian medieval art of arms. This robust system of martial arts includes combat on foot and horseback, in and out of armor, with a variety of weapons including one and two handed sword, dagger, poleweapons, and abrazare (unarmed grappling). Fiore de'i Liberi (1381 - 1409) was a knight, diplomat, and fencing master who wrote Fior di Battaglia ("Flower of Battle"), a manuscript through which we are able to reconstruct these techniques today.
